Argentina in the countdown to ratify the Framework Convention for the Control of Snuff
Buenos Aires, July 29, 2010 (RENA). Argentina began to walk the path to ratify the Framework Convention for the Control of Snuff, an international legal instrument that seeks to establish mandatory strategies that limit the production of snuff and prevent diseases related to consumption. In 2003, the country adopted it, but there were conflicts between the producing provinces and organizations that monitor health, which delayed their ratification. Two public hearings put the legislators on the ropes. The treaty should be initialed by next month. So far, 168 countries ratified it. |
